Project Overview

Created a modern 'Electronic Press Kit' (EPK) solution using React and Next.js. This interactive digital resume allows artists to showcase audio, video, and photography without the performance lag typical of media-heavy portfolio sites. Designed to help artists present a professional image to booking agents.

Challenges

• Loading heavy media assets including embedded video, audio players, and high-resolution photography without introducing noticeable lag or long initial load times

• Creating a flexible visual design system that adapts to different artistic styles, genres, and personal brands without requiring a full redesign for each artist

• Ensuring full mobile responsiveness so booking agents reviewing press kits on phones and tablets get the same polished experience as desktop visitors

• Organizing diverse content types — bio, discography, press quotes, photos, and contact information — into a clear, scannable layout that holds attention

• Keeping the overall page weight low enough to achieve top-tier Core Web Vitals scores despite the volume of rich media on each page

Solutions

• Implemented lazy-loading for all media assets so images, audio, and video only load as the user scrolls them into view

• Created a modular component architecture with configurable color themes and layout options so each artist can customize the look without code changes

• Designed the entire experience mobile-first, starting with the smallest viewport and progressively enhancing for larger screens

• Built dedicated content sections with consistent spacing and typography that guide the viewer through the artist's story, work, and contact details

• Optimized all images through next/image with automatic format conversion and responsive sizing to minimize bandwidth usage
